Slide.com the photo sharing website is shutting down on March 6, 2012. I started using slide.com for my blog for sharing the photos 5 years ago in 2007. Google acquired slide.com on August 6, 2010 for $182 million. But an year later, on August 26, 2011 Google announced that it is shutting down slide.com.
As part of this closure of the renowned website, users are given two options to back up their photos uploaded before March 6,2012 or the data will be lost.
1. You can save the album as .zip file on to your desktop
2. Export the photos to Picasa web album account by Google
For more information on exporting please click this link.
Thanks

I was using it heavily initially.. why google buys good products and kills them?
ReplyDeleteNidhi,
ReplyDeleteThat is a case in point.
they killed it because .. it's redundant and overhead on their bottomline considering they already have picasa/G+ photos.
ReplyDeleteI guess they may be re-using some image processing algos from slide .. then how come overnight my old photos in picasa start looking great :)
thanks for the info Shande :)
